Our 34th year!
Murphy Irish Arts Association
The purpose of the MIAA is to promote Irish heritage an in particular, the Murphy Irish Arts Center. Our members are parents, grandparents, alumni and friends of the dancers who join toether to support the MIAC and its dancers in their promotion of and participation in Irish cultural events. The MIAA supports the dancers by holding fundraising events to offset the cost of costumes, travel and participation in competitions and shows. The Association also serves as a social and support group for familes of dancers by providing information and organizational assistance for events in which the dancers participate. Most importantly, the MIAA promotes Murphy Irish Arts within the community and the state of Ohio.
In short, our mission is to enhance the classroom instruction by helping to provide many other components that complete the overall dance experience. We have found that the most efficient way to do this is through a required membership fee. This fee ensures that each and every family participates in the raising of important funds, regardless of their ability to donate their time and talents to addtional and necessary activities.
The MIAA is a non-profit organization and is exempt from federal income tax under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and is state tax exempt as well. There is further documentation and bylaws for the MIAA on file at the Murphy Irish Arts Center.
Please remember:
- To attend classes at the Center, you must be a member of MIAA
- Membership fee = $60/family/year
- Checks must be made payable to MIAA, not to MIAC
- You must enclose the fee and application form with your first tuition payment and class registration form (tuition check payable to MIAC, membership fee is payable to MIAA)
- Your registration will be returned to you if both checks and both forms are not submitted together.
- Once your MIAA membership is paid, your family will receive login information for the "students only" portions of this website.
Thank you for your support!
Sheila, Bob and the Officers of MIAA
